Ask HN: Why doesn't Amazon Prime Video have a simple domain like primevideo.com?

1 pointsby alphachloridealmost 3 years ago
When I go to primevideo.com, I get a button prompting me to go to this address:
https://www.amazon.com/Amazon-Video/b/?&node=2858778011
This is a very minor gripe. For netflix is netflix.com, for hulu it is hulu.com. Why not Prime Video? Amazon even owns primevideo.com but they ask me to manually click on the button to be redirected to the above link.

My guess is that they want it to be on their main website so you might remember to checkout your cart or buy something new.
They kept their shopping search, cart, and popular shopping categories in the header.
Pretty smart.
