Next to defending large corporations, is hating on someone who is fighting to make sure we all get paid better.
If there is anything I can fault the man for, it’s the sexual misconduct. Disappointing if they turn out true.
However his evangelism for fair pay is something I really respect. I’m not sure if some Stockholm syndrome has driven people to cringe when someone is literally advocating for companies not to lay off people, or make sure that everyone get’s decent pay.
A progressive CEO that has a multitude of skeletons in his closet? Color me shocked!
Jokes aside, I like how the article references his infamous "$70,000" statement only after his lawsuit with his brother.
For all the press coverage, I have no idea what his company does.
But regardless, one shouldn't be surprised that a CEO that was all about self-promotion is accused of unsavory acts.
I don't really care about his allegations. Innocent until proven guilty.
I care more about the way he runs his company:
- Minimum salary is $80k
- Unlimited time off
- Doesn't lay off people
My skeptical game theory hat tells me this is not sustainable, not scalable and not applicable to every company out there.
Even if it is, it won't be long before market forces and human stupidity, laziness and greed (both the employee and employer) force it back to equilibrium.
