proof- https://twitter.com/gauravphoenix/status/1563613302013304833
back when I used to have model 3, I had a horrible experience with auto-pilot which I described here https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=27306550#27307011
Seems like things are no better with model Y. It is seeing things that aren't there. Other people have the opposite issue with it- it doesn't see when it should see things :)
One more issue I have found is that while taking a ramp, sometimes it thinks that I am departing a lane and applies auto-correction to steering. The first time it did it, I jolted my soul. Imagine taking a regular ramp and suddenly you hear sharp beeps and the steering wheel rotates on its own. If someone from tesla wants to reach me, I can provide the exact location it happens.
I dont understand why the model does not all allow for object permanence. Like when a car right next to you keep disappearing in and out the model should never allow that. Same as how the model should never allow for a light to go from green to red instantly. Same with pedestrians disappearing, the model should create a pedestrian when detected and track relative positions even when not actually visible to sensors. Without that kind of thought human drivers would not be able to drive either
Tesla Fools Self Driving (FSD) is on LSD. Just like the time it was hallucinating and seeing a yellow traffic light but in reality it is getting confused with the moon and started slowing down on the highway [0].
Just tells you it doesn't work, despite all the promised updates.
[0] https://twitter.com/jordanteslatech/status/14184133078625853...
