It feels like this is already true. Most (recent) EVs will charge to 80% in 30 mins or less. Isn't that faster than an iPhone?

Not a huge surprise. The EV business is growing rapidly and will keep growing, so it will receive huge resources for all kinds of R&D. Gasoline cars already feel very much like a 1900s technology, but the difference will get a lot steeper in the next 3 years.
