It shows you did the work but ultimately it's what you know. You'll have to prove that you can code before you get hired. Many companies will be looking for a CS degree or some kind of degree to consider you as a candidate but don't expect to be hired because of it. Certificates might help a bit vs someone that doesn't have one but don't expect that it will get you a job. Again, it comes down to what you know.<p>As an education tool it makes sense to get one since it gives structure to your education in a field where it's easy to not focus on any area and waste resources and time.<p>Get the certificate but make sure you learn and not think that you'll get a job because you have one.
