Hopefully there’s a prominent audit trail that shows a full diff for each edit.<p>The crypto scam point is a good one though. Things are already bad enough and this is an extra weapon in the toolkit of the scammers. Maybe the paywall to the feature will reduce occurrences but these scams are so lucrative I doubt it. A large proportion of these scams also come from account takeovers.<p>I really don’t understand why Twitter does a particularly bad job of stopping these scammers. Most of the scam tweets I see have really similar characteristics and should be easily blockable IMO.
Is Twitter worth $44BN BECAUSE of missing basic features like this, or IN SPITE OF that?<p>All the successful social networks seem to constrain the users in some way. Whereas ones that give the user the proverbial kitchen sink in features never seem to do as well.
