Attempts to Stop a Hurricane in its Track

Without hurricanes, Floridians would run out of water. Hurricanes bring rainfall all over the state. The aquifers would collapse, causing sinkholes all over the state. The rivers would stop flowing and become full of smelly algae instead.
People from other states probably think hurricanes are scary but most Floridians (except the ones on the coast or the ones from Cuba) don’t panic until it’s a category 5th hurricane. With the exception of CAT 5s, hurricanes have never been as bad as the news portrays them.
The biggest negative has been the noticeable increases in the mosquito population but it’s only temporary. Maybe Project Verily or something similar can help with that.
