I recall the rise of millions of small gas sit down scooters in Taiwan. Small cars, 3 wheel tuk-tuks as well. As the 80's progressed there were large numbers of young men with knee troubles, crutches, canes etc. This was cause by the knees sticking out and getting smashed in a collision. Young girls usually rode behind the driver in side-saddle mode, so were less represented in the accidents.
Now these battery scooters will start to show up with their characteristic injuries. I am not quite sure how they will manifest. You ride at 25 MPH, scooter hits a curb = 0 MPH and you must now start running at 25 MPH - this will not end well. They have already made a matk in the stats.
https://www.google.com/search?q=escooter+trauma&rlz=1C1CHBF_...
