Everyone wants a tip now. Touchscreens and the pandemic have created tipflation

Recently vacationed in Europe. The lack of a tipping culture there was refreshing.

I've always had an expectation that I tip at a restaurant with table service but it would take something exceptional for me to tip at a restaurant with counter service.

One more reason to lean back towards cash. I'm all for tipping well where it's appropriate, but the tip-creep is getting ridiculous.
