I usually use JavaScript, but C/Zig when I need that kind of power, because you can't get that power in Rust either without unsafe. Rust makes sense as a replacement for C++, it doesn't make sense as a replacement for JavaScript or C. It's definitely not the jack of all trades like people treat it, though it is definitely a master of none.<p>As a cult it is fairly benign at least, most projects don't need Rust, but it's your time and money you are wasting. People like wasting time mucking around with tools as if they are anything but the means to do something more important.
