I really dislike this trend of segmenting content catalogs based on the plan you select. Netflix's new ad-supported plan not only shows ads, but also says "Some movies and TV shows unavailable (learn more), unlimited mobile games"
https://help.netflix.com/en/node/24926
I bought a Kindle to try it out, and added the Kindle Unlimited 90-day trial at no extra cost. But Kindle "Unlimited" is actually not unlimited at all; only some titles are in the "unlimited" library. I don't mean that only some books are available either. Many titles, like the one I wanted (Legend of Drittz) are available on Kindle, but not on Kindle Unlimited. I had to buy the book for $8.
I really can't understand Netflix's reasoning. Sure, they are giving a 30% discount in exchange for ads, if you want to think of it that way. But c'mon - it's $3. Do they really think people are willing to suffer through ads and have a limited library, for $3 less? I don't. Because you know whatever popular program you want to watch on Netflix is not going to be in the limited library.
Amazon Prime does this too. Sure, they have thousands of titles you can watch. They also regularly move titles off of Prime once they get popular. Seen it happen many times with titles on my Watch List (which I never use anymore because of this). I will be canceling Kindle "Unlimited" at the end of the free trial, because at the end of the day, it's just another source of feeling frustration when large corporations put the screws to me. I already switched to the Netflix DVD plan. They'll have a hard time inserting ads on that, unless they insert them while adding items to my queue. Hey, that's a great idea! I should patent that before they start doing it!

If it keeps like this it'll be fine. The moment my plan gets ads I'll cancel.

Seems OK. Cheaper service for those on a tight budget who can pay a bit with their eyeballs. Normal service remains available.
