Memory Usage on a MacBook M1

I'd point out that RAM behaviour on laptops, especially Mac's, has moved closer to phone RAM behaviour. Generally speaking, apps seem to expand to consume as much RAM as possible and reduce when new apps come in. It's not like this is new, but my point is that there's a good chance Spotify would still run the same with 600 MB RAM, and that all of those apps would still work the same if you had half as much RAM.
Not trying to sympathize the joke that is Electron apps, but just wanted to point out that RAM usage discussion isn't as simple as it used to be anymore. My Mac uses 12/16GB RAM pretty much constantly regardless of what I'm doing.

I wonder what extensions are being used for vscode. I have IntelliJ (far heavier, actual IDE) open and active using 3.38GB of ram.

Dude runs 4 browsers simultaneously and complains about memory usage.
