For me a lot of these new &quot;learning concepts&quot; seem like justifications for teachers to make their job easier, at the cost of actual educational results. Structuring a classroom is no doubt hard and exhausting work, so is teaching children. But the solution is not to let children do what they want, everyone who ever was a child knows what children will do if you give them an easy way to exploit the system...<p>Nobody, besides the teachers, is helped by removing the requirement for students to put in effort. &quot;High grade students&quot; won&#x27;t see their efforts pay and &quot;low grade students&quot; will put in even less effort...

If you get half credit for no work, you also devalue the work -- doing the work is now only worth half as much.
