I think the author is onto something here. Reminds me of the fishery collapses over the last century. Everything's fine until it's not, often out of willful effort to adjust the threshold of when to be alarmed.<p>I'm also reminded of the slow bleed of trust and favor that Humble Bundle used to have. I used to champion them. Now I avoid buying anything there because of the scheming they've engaged in around when I get surprise billed or what to expect from that month or how much actually goes to charities. It'd take something special at this point to overcome the generalized ick I feel towards them now.
