Now a days the first place I look for software is f-droid. Sometimes it doesn't have exactly what I need, but really, more often than not it has applications that are more than good enough for what I'm looking for.
And the biggest advantage of it is actually feeling respected and why not say it, free. It feels good to have an app that's designed to do what you need and nothing more, no ads, no internet connection, no one stealing my data.
I think the app could still use some more work but, hey, it's okay as it is.
F-droid is an oasis of good free software that I trust in the commercial wasteland that is Android. It is like Debian in that packages are not built on the developer's infrastructure. That seperation is worth a lot to me.
