You’ll not go far though and you’ll never work on my team.&quot;<p>I wish people stopped trying to win arguments by flashing their manager role, it&#x27;s not very far from bragging that your dad owns the company. It makes one look like a jerk.<p>You &quot;wouldn&#x27;t hire me&quot;? Ever though many, perhaps most, people wouldn&#x27;t want to work for you in the first place? And that if they do, it might be because they need a job, not that they agree with you or your arguments?

There&#x27;s a big difference between a &quot;software engineer&quot; and a &quot;product software engineer&quot;.<p>A software engineer builds to a well defined spec, that likely came from a waterfall process.<p>A product software engineer gets a story, that largely draws no conclusions as to what needs to be built. It&#x27;s up to the engineer to hypothesize, experiment, and iterate.
