It makes one look like a jerk.<p>You "wouldn't hire me"? Ever though many, perhaps most, people wouldn't want to work for you in the first place? And that if they do, it might be because they need a job, not that they agree with you or your arguments?
There's a big difference between a "software engineer" and a "product software engineer".<p>A software engineer builds to a well defined spec, that likely came from a waterfall process.<p>A product software engineer gets a story, that largely draws no conclusions as to what needs to be built. It's up to the engineer to hypothesize, experiment, and iterate.
