I firmly believe more intelligent people need to be exposed to real mental illness such as this. To give perspective. But the important thing to do with that perspective is not to validate these delusions that people have. You can seriously damage and hurt someone who has a delusional disorder if you validate. I mean yeah, if you aren't ever going to encounter them again and you might be in a dangerous situation then lie convincingly so you can get out of said situation... But if it's a person you encounter often or a loved one then please get them help and get them to come back to reality. They don't need some smart nerd waxing philosophical about society and what tech companies are doing... They need actual help and even if you think reality is some fungible thing they don't need to hear that.
Interesting story.
I worked with a lady who insisted that the government bugged street lamps with microphones powerful enough to record words said in nearby buildings and the COVID jab was to monitor your body and execute commands when needed.
Silly until you learn she’s a mom, wife, and voter.
