Yup. This was the expected endgame, where covid would be cold- and flu-like. Changing each year under evolutionary pressure (noroviruses do this as well I think). Given that the alternative for viruses is death, not surprising they select for variability.<p>At some point, they might find an invariant region to develop an antibody against, but if people themselves can’t produce one it looks unlikely. Hopefully, like flu shots, they can guess right or provide enough effect to keep things from getting out of hand.
