Are the challenges at Twitter technical ones ? It seems they are all related to strategy and direction of the business which isn't the expertise Hotz is famous for.<p>Or perhaps Hotz sincerely wants to be a lowly intern and this is his idea of a vacation. I can relate.
As he resigned from his own company, comma, it will be interesting to see him at Tesla after this so called internship. It may be an interesting opportunity for Tesla’s on artificial intelligence team, to iterate to have better performance by working with someone experienced in camera based autonomous cars.
Tangential aside: I always thought his Twitter handle was "geohot" or something along these lines. I remember it from the early days of his rise to fame through iphone jailbreaking.
If this materializes and Hotz isn't barred by his employment agreement from providing public commentary on his experience and what he works on, it would be pretty entertaining to watch.
And I just read a comment in another twitter related post here on HN that Elon’s recent email will cause the good engineers to leave and the bad ones to stay. Bullocks. Some people enjoy challenges. Typically ones with outsized ability, naturally.
