Ask HN: Remote Consult App for Homeowners?

1 pointsby anoojbover 2 years ago
I recently became a homeowner. I needed to get an electrical outlet fixed and got quoted anywhere from $150-400. Turns it out was a job that took 10 minutes to complete and $10 worth of materials.
This made me think, could I build something like a Telehealth remote consult app for handy/trades people where we could provide:
-Remote consult: for $20-50 a homeowner get someone to weigh in on my job/issue for about 15-20-mins. -Source leads: for $1-2 per consult a local service provider could remote consult with a homeowner and bid on a free consult. -Directory: free directory of local service providers with reviews
I'm missing some critical defensive features for the ecosystem part of the application. But the core initial differentiating would be the remote consult.
COGS for the consult would be less than .25 per 20-min session.
