On the whole, seems like a level headed take for once.<p>One area not touched on here, and that outsiders don't have much insight into, is how is Elon planning on compensating the remaining engineers? He can't rely on chutzpah, latitude, and charisma forever, and it only seems right to reward those who stick around and build what's next in what's going to be an extremely intense and chaotic environment not unlike a startup. Startups of course generally do incentivize lower level employees with a share of the possible future spoils, but as far as I know Elon has done no such thing as of yet. It could be that he plans on doing so after people have proved themselves, but if he doesn't he could be setting himself up for failure with an even worse reputation than he's got already amongst the people he really wants, perhaps needs, to attract in order to run the business of Twitter.
