Ask HN: Best Replacement for Atom Editor?

1 pointsby furrowedbrowover 2 years ago
What would you recommended to replace Atom now that it’s being sunsetted? I’m developing on a Mac, mostly Node. I’ve been using Atom for so long I don’t know what the current state of lightweight editors is. VS Code? Sublime? What even is GitHub Codespaces?? Thanks for all feedback

VSCode has extensive plugin ecosystem now and has a lot of inbuilt features. It works great, has become a default editor for me. Unless I need Rider/VS2022. I just hope they separate all their jupyiter notebook stuff into an extension so I can disable it. Feels like unnecessary bloat having it by default when they have such a great plugin api
