> Bitcoin is absolutely scarce

So what? Scarcity doesn't confer value by itself.
> Bitcoin's issuance is fixed in time
Why is that a good thing? All it means is the system is inflexible.
> Bitcoin can be stored in your head
It's imaginary?
> Bitcoin can be sent at the speed of light
Obviously not literally true. Is it meaningfully faster than other ways to transmit?
> Bitcoin can be verified by anyone, easily and cheaply
That may be true, but how advantageous is it really?
USD is fiat currency backed only by a rogue gov who has sunken itself into $42 trillion of debt ... how does that gov stay afloat ? it prints fake USD which floods the market resulting in inflation
look at the value of USD over past 100 years judged against a basket of commodities https://www.bls.gov/opub/mlr/2014/article/one-hundred-years-...
value of USD is now 1 percent of its value less that 100 years ago and continually falls in relative value to commodities needed by the population
the value proposition of bitcoin: it is not issued nor managed by a mafia masquerading as the non governmental non reserve holding non bank called the Federal Reserve Bank which put USA in a choke hold death spiral back in 1913
besides BTC is independent of any country so if say USA fed gov makes stupid laws against it well those holders are free to move offshore
do yourself a favor and research the percentage of total global financial assets held in offshore tax havens ... those financial parasites should be the target of our concern not bitcoin fans
The problem is that bitcoin has no value to me all by itself. I can't pay my bills with it, I can't buy the goods and services I need with it. It only gains value at the moment I sell it for fiat money, and that interface between the bitcoin world and the world I actually live in means that the the valuation of bitcoin in USD matters more than anything else. Which means the volatility matters. A whole lot.
