>If your game has a character that can kill everyone around them but then acts all nice and selfless during the cutscenes is a BAD GAME.
What? Someone with the ability to cause destruction isn’t allowed to be a decent person to people around them?
IRL there are plenty of people trained for violence that go about treating other people alright & managing not to inflict violence on others over minor things.
Otherwise the tldr: author doesn’t have fun when game mechanics allow actions that don’t match the narrative. Or I guess when the narrative interrupts gameplay in some way? I don’t know, author gives no examples.
That’s fine, don’t play them. But when other people have fun playing them it’s not apologizing. I don’t quite even know what that’s supposed to mean, and the author doesn’t explain much or give an example.
