Hardware or software that does what is desired and doesn’t crash or lose data is a wonderful thing. New might be shiny and it’s usually hard to justify spending a release on debugging but sh*t that just works is a joy. I fear current cars are going to have a lot of dead computer junk in them far sooner than they’re still ok to drive. And I doubt the vendors will care. Got lots of old computer electronics to recycle, and it’s tiring losing home appliances to dead motherboards that can’t handle vibration.
