I wonder if the Germans have a word for the awkward envy-tinted schadenfreude I feel when reading these SIM / social engineering / trivial-hack articles.
I know the kids involved (usually second-degree, they are younger now), the methods involved, and how do not do it wrong, and most importantly, how to not get caught ( in theory)...
Maybe it's the general awareness / moral conscientiousness that tilts the scale enough to inhibit me from it, maybe it's the fully developed brain, maybe it's the lack of (teenager hormonal raging) balls; but the feeling of missing out while 75% of others in my "class" sit on a beach drinking Daiquiris with blondes in a crypto-tax haven and the other 25% sit in federal prison sometimes make me yearn to had rolled the dice a few more times.
