Had to look up what a phytate was. They look like the kind of thing that’s administered for metal poisoning (chelating agent), so it’s not surprising it hoovers up the essential metals in one’s diet.<p>This study would be better described as “a diet of not fully nutritious food isn’t fully nutritious”. Like with pet food I guess, the manufacturers can choose ingredients or supplement as necessary or you can supplement them as necessary. The latter, unfortunately, takes more effort and carries more risk.
