Why aren&#x27;t people talking about the containment vessel. We have no way to keep the ignited fuel in some kind of container that will let us harness the power in a controlled manner.<p>I&#x27;ve read of a 30 to 50 yr timeline until we can have a working reactor. I hope so but we need to be realistic that it&#x27;s likely to be much longer since there are so many unknowns. We should focus on the energy sources that we know work like thermo,solar and nuclear.<p>The real advance would be a fool proof fission reactor that&#x27;s accident proof. In addition, we need its spent fuel to be fully and easy to recycle. All of which can be done in the 30-50 yrs period.<p>We can do both but let&#x27;s make sure we don&#x27;t lose focus of the innovations we know can be done to move away from fossil fuels.
