Ask HN: How can we make Congress's law changes more legible?

2 pointsby arikrover 2 years ago
"Congress routinely passes major legilation in a multi-thousand-page bill crafted at the end of the year with no time to read when everyone is out"
Seems bad!
Who is in a position to fix this and how could they fix it?

> Who is in a position to fix this
Those who are incentivized not to fix it.
Seriously though, most laws these days are bought. So, you'll need money, lots of it. Maybe a 100K or so to start with. Probably a couple million at the end of the day.
Blessed are old people who plant trees knowing that they shall never sit in the shade of their foliage.

Convince them to shorten and/or summarize bills with AI? Limits on bill length, and time of introduction- At least 2 weeks before federal holiday! Reduce voting by Proxy, lawmakers must be present to Vote. Term limits for our gerontocracy?
And the 2nd Amendment is always waiting, if the 1st is truly at risk
