A local store had this on display for Christmas. Nine yo me gazed upon the dazzling graphics and smooth animations. It was almost as watching a cartoon. This was the exact moment in time I knew that all I wanted was
my own Commodore 64 so that I too could create such beautiful stuff.
Fast-forward 40 years and I am still making demos for the greatest home computer ever built <3
And here is commentary from The 8-Bit Guy.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kWovQ2ngdAQ
Merry Christmas, Hacker News.
I remember as a kid with these graphics, thinking that there would be no way a computer could ever replicate full motion video like on tv. Crazy to see how things worked out and how wrong I was.
>Only $595!
Which is $1,835 in current dollars. How long did it take for the Commodore 64 to drop to $99? It's amazing how rapidly computers advanced during that era and how quickly the prices declined, at least until the RAM crisis.
