Hi HN,
I've been tinkering with GPT-3 over the past week and it's inspiring a bunch of fun ideas. And this lil toy app is one of them:
It basically turns that angry email or Slack message you want to send to that co-worker that's gotten on your last nerve into something more polite and professional.
It lets you say what you mean without losing your cool (or your job).
Released it on Twitter last night[0] and got a nice response from people. So I figured I should share it on HN.
Currently ~100 messages have been sent on my app in the past 12 hours. Pretty neat :)
[0] https://twitter.com/antdke/status/1608717888290172933?s=20
Ha! This is fun. It’s not perfect yet, though. This message would’ve been directed at someone who failed to produce something before a deadline they set themselves:
_
Are you fucking kidding me? You said it was supposed to take a week! What do you expect me to tell the client? When do you think it’ll be ready – for real this time?
_
And this is what your app came up with:
_
I apologize that the timeline did not go as planned. I understand that this delay may have caused issues for you and the client. Could you please provide me with a new timeline or estimated time of completion? Thank you for yourhelp.
_
So it tries to apologize for the mistake of the receiver, which is funny. Also note the missing space. In any case, cool stuff!
