It’s not the first YC-backed company I see selling themselves hard as “the same as [popular thing you know] but better”. It feels unscrupulous to get a bunch of VC money to try to outcompete others by copying and publicly trashing them. Is YC deliberately incentivising the behaviour?

The launch announcement(?) contains images, video, and write up but I can’t seem to find a link to try it out.<p>There’s a link to “WriteSonic”, but that website doesn’t mention ChatSonic.

Not that important, but even in their demo of "Generate an image of Messi playing in the World Cup" it generates an image with Messi in Barcelona's jersey, so playing for the club team, not the national team.
