Some observant HN users simply past prior HN links into recent posts on the same topic.<p>That, of course, is not a solution given the nature of how HN us used: see a cool page, drop it in HN - without looking first to see if it's already there.<p>There are, of course, technical solutions to the problem.
An automated/AI/community system for merging/filtering/tagging duplicates would be nice<p>Now you basically just have to know there's a dupe account/link, say "flagged for dupe", etc.... sorta clunky, I agree
