Show HN: Codeium: Free Copilot alternative that works in Jupyter notebooks

11 pointsby varunkmohanover 2 years ago
I'm Varun from the Codeium team. We are super excited to bring free AI-powered code autocomplete to standalone Jupyter notebooks, a dev environment that is currently underserved by existing solutions.
And in the spirit of Show HN, we have a playground version for anyone to try the tech in the browser without any installation (linked in the blog post)!

[Anshul from the Codeium team here]
We launched on HackerNews a month ago to a decent response (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=33885676) and one of the biggest asks we received on our Discord was to make Codeium available in places where Copilot or other alternatives are not. The top of that list was standalone Jupyter notebooks, popular among data scientists and students, and so we made it a priority to build out this capability. So now any developer can (for free) enjoy the same AI-powered autocomplete on Jupyter notebooks as they do on popular IDEs like VSCode and JetBrains.
We are happy to answer any questions, and would love to get feedback from the HN community!
