Context? As individuals? As tech people, collectively? As a nation? As the entire human race?
And, in what area? Economically? Socially? Morally? Technologically? Politically?
My answers, which may completely miss the point of your question:
- Care about other people. Have and practice empathy. Find a few that you are drawn to, and love them. (I don't mean sex. I mean care for them, and show it in action.)
- Care about society. Care about justice. (I don't mean "social justice", as it's usually defined, but... for a healthy society, there must be justice, and it must not be just another means for the powerful to oppress the powerless. There must be real justice, justice that helps the powerless when the powerful attack them.)
- I believe that God is there - not just as a word or an idea, but He is really there. Knowing Him, loving Him, and walking with Him is really what it's all about.
Hacking The Planet.
I'm not joking. The Internet is ripe for creative minds who think outside the box. Don't be the 99% who just consume, be the 1% who explores, contributes, and shares their findings with others. And I don't mean black-hat hacking, although if that's your thing, maybe startup a pen-testing company and do it the legal way. We have to use the gift of The Internet at every opportunity.
We should be trying our best, doing whatever it takes, to know, love, and serve God with all of our heart and all of our mind. Every day we step closer to death, everyone will die one day, the question is whether our time will be used to with eternity in mind or whether we'll simply distract ourselves with trinkets and trifles.
