Anyone else ever have Airbnb offer a refund and then not provide it? This is my second time dealing with such a situation, and it's very confusing because they seem to have support staff in far-off places like the Philippines who don't really understand that credit card companies require US companies to fulfill promised credits.
Is there any recourse aside from giving up on Airbnb?
airbnb takes disdain for their customers to a whole new level.
then again, that probably feels true for whatever monopoly you are dealing with on the particular day/hour. we got a _lot_ of monopolies out there. it used to be only the phone and cable operators -- now it seems like it's just everyone.
if not a monopoly, then part of an oligopoly - and one of those top three or four companies is going to rake you over the coals - your soul is going to feel it.
:-D
airbnb does have competitors, like vrbo and others, but seems like most of them are ensconced in BIGCORP, so not likely to threaten airbnb in any real way.
i vote chargeback. tho, they may retaliate and ban you or similar. one way to find out.
