An RFID scanner at the register would then read the chip and activate the tool for use.<p>Hacking activations because the tool &quot;forgot&quot; it was legit, anyone?<p>They can&#x27;t even get their &quot;Craftsman&quot; hand tools made to correct quarter inch tolerances. To say nothing of the problems they have with store staff. I expect this to result in lots of inoperable by design junk sitting on their shelves for a while then being scrapped.
