I use to enjoy Peter's talks but he seems to be a bit out of new ideas himself.

Thiel says even science at universities has stalled. The people that "know" string theory don't actually know it. Computer Science as a major was a good choice but the fact that you have to put "Science" after your name is weird. Other science majors don't do this. Chemistry Science? No it's just Chemistry. But the big story is liberals are trying to stop progress. Stop technology advancing. It's too dangerous. And they are headed instead to a one world totalitarian government police state. i.e. either we resist that and try and solve the big problems (climate change, viruses, AI taking over) with more science, or we let the left win and accept this new United States of Earth. He argues it's better to try and fight with science and lose than be in that bad new government system.
Update: I'm summarizing the video, you can't down vote the summary can you?
