I quite liked where "I'm Not OK With This" was going, when it was abruptly canceled.
So I read the original book. That's the one saving grace here: everybody is so desperate for content that they're dragging things in from every other media. Everything old is new again.
In this, case, though... hoo, boy, did that suck. I cannot imagine why they bought that material. It was dreadful, both the art and the story. The Netflix version was a much better property than its source material. (And I really wanted to like the source, since it was clearly working through some very painful issues, but its art was weak and its insight shallow.)
