The skill of being able to engage in small talk seems relevant here, as well as the modern view that small talk is a waste of time. I mean, I agree. I'm not a fan of small talk, but I clearly recognize that it's impacted my ability to engage in low stake conversation about banal things that are to some degree important for day-to-day grooming of social contacts.
Just ask why cherry are better than oak? Do they give fruit that you can eat? What about the wood? Is oak better than cherry? (Oak better than cherry IRL, isn't it?)
