It kinda strikes me as a lot of nonsense. I mean, "The teachings of Islam make the absorption of Muslims into Western society particularly difficult."<p>I see Muslims getting along really well in the US. It's true a handful of people have a problem with them here, and the problem is worse in Europe because of illiberal tendencies there. (I think of the French picking a fight over the Burqa)<p>"Ancient" vs "New" civilization is I think also meaningless in the end. When I think of the most famous buildings in China I think of the Forbidden City and I think of the recent headquarters of the state TV company. Chinese people can very much embrace competition, and embrace the future, whereas our own "new" culture shows many signs of of stasis in places.
