How LLMs will break the internet as we know it

In the current search paradigm I have trouble with discovery already. Shopping results can often land me on a new site and I might find some good deals or interesting products I might not have been searching for originally but in terms of generic web discovery I often go quite a long time before finding something new through today's search. The Internet feels much smaller than it did 10-20 years ago. In fact I can remember the last truly interesting site I stumbled across from a search page directly: https://www.rp-photonics.com/encyclopedia.html
While we might be headed to an even worse state, it's not like we're in a very good one today.
