I participated in Maciej's Antarctic trip crowdfunding, and got way more than my money's worth from his writings, simply some of the best on the web, bar none. Check out his amazing series on Yemen (just before the civil war erupted, but the uneasiness was clearly there). And the <i>Alameda-Weehawken Burrito Tunnel</i> is pure comedic genius, as is <i>Argentina on Two Steaks a Day</i>.

I read this with interest. First because I am a fan of polar exploration stories, but second because I believe I suffered from scurvy myself. WBC count bounced back and, after a tooth extraction, pain is gone.
