Because he was "shot at" and afair hurt his nose/horehead in the car crash, but news sites ran with "journalist shot, look at all the blood".<p>Edit: I had to find original video. He claimed to be shot in the back, while standing with no visual pain, right after footage of him running normally. Why not turn 180 and show the bullet hole presumably in the vest? This is what triggered all the theories at the time.
What always surprises me about these stories is the confidence of the accusers.<p>Its not <i>just</i> that misinformation is being amplified... but people seem to believe they are more of an expert on things than <i>actual</i> experts or witnesses.
