Hi, I’m debating whether to take a new technology down the non-profit or for-profit path. It’s great that YC accelerator supports both. A successful for-profit business gains some advantages for raising capital in the longer term.
1. Does YC allow a for-profit business which intends to permanently donate 30% of subscription revenue to external non-profit organisations? Paul Graham’s ’08 article (see link) implies great YC support for good.
2. Are there any YC for-profit companies that have done something similar?
3. Please what are your thoughts about the feasibility of raising VC in a business that intends to donate 30% subscription revenue to other non-profits?
4. Which VC firms are better known for benevolence?
5. Do these VC firms attend YC demo day?
Thank you
