Microsoft makes Outlook for Mac free to use

I work with a traditional old school company of people for whom e-mail = Outlook.<p>I can’t convince them to switch to web-based direct access to their gSuite.<p>I don’t know how many dozens of hours a year they lose on things not syncing with Outlook, “I can’t create Calendar invites anymore”, “My Zoom plugin isn’t there anymore”, etc<p>But it’s a lot.

Can this be run on Linux via some compatibility layer? I heard Darling exists but I have no idea how good it is.

What is the value prop?<p>Who does that value prop target?<p>What&#x27;s the embrace and extend?<p>None of these are apparent to me.

Does it support Exchange? Last time I tried it bizarrely it didn’t.

And it&#x27;s still not worth it.<p>Unless it&#x27;s substantially more performant than the windows version.
