Here we see all the time posts, comments criticizing companies. So I wonder is there any company/startups that we should know which have humane qualities?
By humane qualities I mean
- Respecting the law and no lobbying.
- Provide great services and products
- Customer focused
- Data Privacy
- Treating employees well
- Contribute to social good.
- etc.
Google and most other big tech unironically do most of those to some extent except for number one.
Don’t fall for the trap that some small scrappy startup whose founder promises great contributions to the world will do that.
That being said, most companies in general do most of those.
I'd just caution about companies that try and woo you for a low salary to work on social good.
You can have a startup that claims to be trying to save the world, but a closer look at their actual business model can reveal them to be more akin to middleman profiteers that don't actually provide any net negative to anybody, but are just good at extracting tax dollars or have connections to capitalize on some craze that will quickly vanish.
Basically, don't take flowery claims at face value, but use your own brain to figure out what their business model actually delivers for the world.
Small businesses generally? If a company is just a few people with a vision the more they care about the things you listed here.
The larger and more profitable a company grows the more leadership is selected based on maximising shareholder value and this is generally when all the malalignment happens.
