This will cause inflation rates in the West to increase (double?) - leading to higher interest rates, economical stagnation, layoffs, more poverty, etc.<p>Unless the US covers up for it, undercutting OPEC+. Seems unlikely to happen.

Renewable energy is energy independence. We need to wean ourselves off any dependence on countries like the ones in OPEC(+).
