Full tweet:

1. Substack links were never blocked. Matt’s statement is false.
2. Substack was trying to download a massive portion of the Twitter database to bootstrap their Twitter clone, so their IP address is obviously untrusted.
3. Turns out Matt is/was an employee of Substack.

The title should be changed to something more descriptive like: "Elon claims Substack was aggressively scraping Twitter"
I'm sure this thread will be a level headed and interesting discussion of events and not a screech fast. You can do it HN!
Here, I'll go first:
Google and Facebook also throw their weight around, they scrape the web but don't let others scrape them. This is bad.
Twitter doing it, also bad. Pretty sure this shitty behavior is par for the course for the big tech companies and predates Elon.
The open web is on its last legs and we are in a pickle as a society.
"were never blocked" you mean except for blocking likes and retweets right?! Sure, not "blocked" per se but everything but that.
The typical BS whose target audience are those who still believe in Elon.
Cool of elon to lie and then misdirect and attack when caught out behaving badly. It was nice of him to number these three exact steps in his tweet.
Nevermind the accusations of suppression of substack in the twitter search.
