Different species of Tree kangaroo down my way, but loss of the pristine scrub they used to live in being a driver to new behaviours, would not be a surprise.<p>I've witnessed the loss of many (most) of the larger trees (thus no more high canopy) in a forest reserve in the southern part of range lands in the Whitsunday region. The problem is IMHO, a fungus and you'd think relevant bodies would like to know ... no they don't, and rather then express interest and concern, it's more don't mention any particular tree killing fungus by name since I've not had it confirmed in a lab ... I was then speaking with a guy near Mackay to the south, who was recounting his Tree Kangaroo problem in his open shelved shed - they love it and I couldn't help but laugh as he recounted his woes cleaning up all the shelves after them. #1 project he had was to be able to lock it up.
